The Union Association for Human Rights (UAHR) participated in the interactive workshops of the Third Sector Awards 2024, organized by the Abu Dhabi Department of Community Development. These workshops are the first of their kind in the UAE and aim at honoring outstanding individuals, entities, and initiatives that have made a unique impact on society.

The UAHR’s team learned about the awards criteria, eligibility for participation, operational priorities, and initiatives. The workshops, held remotely in July 2024 in both Arabic and English, also addressed the inquiries of licensed institutions, including public benefit associations and social enterprises.

The awards aim at recognizing exemplary third sector organizations and local leaders, inspiring entities and individuals committed to creating social impact, and enhancing the credibility of the third sector as a dynamic driver of social change. They also seek to foster a culture of participation, innovation, and social responsibility, contributing to a responsible and caring society.
