Union Association for Human Rights: UAE Sets a Unique Model in Crisis Management and Responding to Challenges
The Union Association for Human Rights expressed its appreciation for the swift actions implemented by the government of the United Arab Emirates in proactively addressing the unusual low-pressure weather system that passed over the country on April 16, 2024.
The Association emphasized that the nation, across its seven Emirates, provided a unique model in crisis management and rapid response to challenges, achieved through a strategic, collaborative approach by relevant authorities, fulfilling the wise leadership’s vision to support communities and uphold societal safety and security.
The Association praised the state’s provision of a safe and secure environment for the lives of UAE citizens, residents, and visitors, which helped minimize the impacts of the weather conditions, support rapid recovery, strengthen stability, and enable a swift return to normal life.
Commendations were also extended to the first responders who faced the challenges posed by the weather system, focusing on strengthening infrastructure and public services to ensure community safety. This effort, through divine protection, resulted in no reported casualties.
The Association valued the dedicated work of response and emergency teams, who operated with commitment and sincerity, supported by the loyal members of the community. The public’s commitment to following official instructions and government-issued measures played a significant role in safeguarding lives and properties.
The Association affirmed that this brief, unexpected crisis arising from weather conditions highlighted the UAE’s advanced developmental vision, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, along with Their Highnesses, members of the UAE Supreme Council, and Rulers of the Emirates.
It also noted the lessons learned from the extreme weather and record-breaking rainfall not seen since climate data began to be recorded in 1949. The UAE has become more prepared and capable of managing crises, boasting an experience that inspires pride and offers a model that can be shared with friendly and brotherly nations.
