The Union Association for Human Rights (UAHR) participated in the workshop “The Role of Non-Profit Organizations in the FATF Mutual Evaluation Process”, organized by the Ministry of Community Empowerment in collaboration with the General Secretariat of the UAE National Anti-Money Laundering and Combatting Financing of Terrorism and Financing of Illegal Organizations Committee (NAMLCFTC). The workshop brought together representatives from public benefit associations as part of the UAE national efforts to enhance local measures, raise awareness, and improve operational frameworks within the non-profit sector in the country.

The workshop covered the methodology of the FATF’s Fifth Round of Mutual Evaluations, the role of non-profit organizations in meeting FATF standards, the importance of risk awareness in the context of non-profit organizations, and the legal framework governing the sector, alongside best practices in risk mitigation and compliance with FAFT standards
